‘Hi I am Tent.

Part of Unusual Names Anonymous.

I implore you all to introduce yourselves.’

‘Hi I’m Uluru, formerly known as Ayers.’

‘Hi, I’m Fall, originally from the United States, but you Aussies call me Autumn or Arse Over Tit. I think I prefer Autumn’

‘Hi I’m Magpie. Just call me Magpie.

You do have unusual names. I have a reason though. I am an honorary member of an Indigenous community in the USA. Could I start first?’

‘OK’

‘So today I woke up, just a regular Monday. I’m actually part of a writers’ club. They do a 20-minute writing session. Sometimes though a lady named Cat like to hurry things up. Cats and magpies don’t mix in nature, much like this writers’ group. But I do miss them. Vesna, Ricci, Jeanette, Kevan, Carol. Dave not so much. There is a man there with them with magical qualities. A man named Michael. We have a connection. He can connect with time too, know how long things have been. Say for instance if 8 minutes has passed, he knows it has been 8 minutes. One day, I will see Michael Collins again and express my undying appreciation for his and his sympatico with clocks. He is a true clock master. A cuckoo bird to my magpie.
