'What’s the time?’ Barbara, teenage granddaughter of Hannah.
‘Bedtime’ - Jill, Barbara’s mother.
‘It’s always bed time, according to my mother – Barbara.

‘Yes, but that’s because you don’t wake up until almost lunch time.’ – Jill
‘Oh well, different generations have different approaches. I’m tired all the time, and happy with bed-time all day and night.’ – Hannah, the grandmother.
Last remnant of dinner eaten, last drinks downed, television switched off, pet dog patted and pet cat stroked, last good nights, lights switched off.
‘It’s a mess,’ says Barbara, the teenager.
‘What’s a mess?’ Jill
‘The leftovers.’ – All
‘Goodnight.’
