New Year more fear

Who is really who…

Allow me to be more precise... more clear...

As if Christmas was not bad enough

With the increase in self-harm...

Family arguments... Old tensions revisited...

I have this morning talked to a friend

Whose new year is starting off… badly … 

A friend in need... as they say...

Yes his New Year is starting off… in despair...

Now the morning actually got worse… you see…

Another friend called to say

that life is a hell... And that in this hell...

she would  prefer NOT to stay...

She had been in tears all night ...

Trying to make sense of the madness …

I cannot even imagine the grief

That these friends are reliving...

Still...  I look out my window...

see the forest of trees that is my backyard...

And think...

Not everything in this world... has been defeated...

The trees survived the recent... terrible... storm...

And so will these friends.
