“Roger”, said the teacher. “Yes”, the class said, “no”, our teacher replied “Roger Morgan that boy there”, everyone laughed.

“Sir”, the boy answers, thinking he had done something wrong.

“What are you doing?”

The boy lifted his notebook showing a sketch of a battle, the very battle the teacher had been describing.

“I learn better with picture sir” he mutters.

“Roger that, Roger” the teacher replies with a snicker, “do you do this in all classes?” he nods “see that students, that is our approach learning with you own style.”

Roger sinks into his chair embarrassed as other students learn over trying to see his drawing.

“You know what?  I’ll give extra marks to everyone who makes a creative interpretation of the Hastings in this week’s homework. It doesn’t have to be good, just unique and interesting”, as he said that the bell rang and everyone files out patting Roger on the back.

Roger, a shy and nervous boy is congratulated on his unique perspective and style by his classmates. A few asked to see his drawing up close in the break. Maybe this is the start of new friendships.
